175 Years of Faith, Service and Trust
In 2026, the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ joyfully celebrate the 175th anniversary of their foundation. What began with the courageous “yes” of Saint Katharina Kasper has grown into an international congregation dedicated to serving those in need, witnessing to God’s love, and living the Gospel in everyday life.
This Jubilee year is an invitation to remember our roots with gratitude, to celebrate the present, and to look to the future with hope. Across the congregation, sisters and partners in mission are coming together in prayer, reflection, and shared celebration.
A special highlight of this Jubilee is the international symposium organized by the Congregational Leadership, bringing together voices from across the world to reflect on the history of the Poor Handmaids.
In the Province of Germany, a full year of activities has been planned to mark this special anniversary. The Jubilee celebrations began with a festive opening Mass, gathering sisters, friends, and partners in a spirit of thanksgiving and joy.
We warmly invite all who feel connected to our mission to join us throughout this Jubilee year as we celebrate 175 years of faith, service, and trust in God. More information about the program of the German Province you can find here.
