The International Juniorate Program (IJP) provides a platform for Temporary professed Sisters to grow spiritually, foster intercultural relationships, and deepen their understanding of the charism of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.

The program’s classes foster spiritual growth, enhance self-awareness, and promote intercultural understanding. These sessions help the Sisters embrace each other’s unique gifts and cultures, address modern challenges, and emphasize holistic well-being and creative expression, equipping them to live out their vocation with greater depth and understanding.

Being in Dernbach, the birthplace of St. Katharina, profoundly moved the Sisters and strengthened their spiritual connection to her legacy. Walking through the places where St. Katharina lived and missioned provided a tangible link to their congregation’s origins, inspiring a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to service. The interaction among Sisters from diverse countries – India, Nigeria, Kenya, Mexico, and Brazil – strengthened their bonds as members of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, celebrating unity in diversity. Additionally, interactions with senior Sisters transcended language barriers, deeply touching the PHJC spirit and reinforcing the sense of sisterhood and shared mission.

One of the most moving moments of the visit to Limburg was when the Bishop gave each sister a pear, a symbol of sharing and a gesture that Katharina practiced. This act of generosity resonated deeply, reminding us of the importance of solidarity and service in our religious life.

In summary, the International Juniorate Program has been a transformative journey for the junior Sisters, profoundly impacting their personal, professional, and spiritual lives. The program emphasized the importance of consistently applying what they learned, bridging the gap between knowledge and action. Guided by St. Katharina Kasper’s legacy, the Sisters are determined to make a positive impact in their communities, embodying the change they wish to see in the world.
